FLOODING
A burst pipe or flexi-hose spraying water inside the house can become a big problem, fast. If you have a water leak causing flooding of any kind turn off your water at the meter to reduce any further damage to your property.
GAS SMELL
A strong smell of gas (Safety Critical – Turn off meter and call us). After turning off your gas open all windows and doors if safe to do so to help ventilate your home and call us immediately.
TOILET BACKED UP
Only one toilet in the house and it’s backing up? Say no more. If you have number two’s that wont go away we make it our number one priority to get your system flowing as soon as possible.
NOT SO HOT WATER
No hot water (especially if you have young kids) can be a massive problem for maintaining a families hygiene, from dirty dishes to dirty bodies we are here to get your hot water unti back on track asap.
WHAT TO DO WHILE YOU WAIT – DIVERSE EMERGENCY TRIAGE.
Minimize damage before we arrive with these steps:
WATER EMERGENCY:
Locate your mains water meter (usually at the front boundary) and turn the tap clockwise until tight.
Open a garden tap to drain the remaining water in the pipes.
GAS EMERGENCY:
Turn the yellow handle at your gas meter so it sits crossways (perpendicular) to the pipe.
Open windows to ventilate.
DO NOT use any electrical switches or lighters.
ELECTRICAL NEAR BY:
If water is leaking near lights or power points, turn off the mains power at your switchboard immediately.
